The public feed is cached and served to everyone from one place; only a scheduled server worker calls eBay, roughly twice an hour, and the Cardmarket market reference is refreshed daily. Each listing carries when it was last checked, and the feed marks itself “delayed” if the worker stops — at which point deal labels become informational until it catches up.

Best opportunity ranks a listing by how far below our conservative safe-buy figure it is priced, and then shades that discount by how much we trust it. We first subtract a flat €3, because a saving smaller than the cost and bother of buying is not really a saving; what is left is weighted by four things we can check — how recently we opened the listing itself, the seller’s feedback record, our confidence in the market reference we compared against, and how long ago the listing went up. A listing keeps all of that weight when it has just gone up and at least 60% of it after about a week, so between two similar discounts the newer listing comes first. A listing you already saw on an earlier visit to this page, on this device, moves down a little within its group, and you can hide the ones you have seen. A live auction is held back, because a current bid can only rise, and it is released as the auction closes. Any listing we cannot price this way scores under 45 out of 100 and therefore always sits below every listing we can price, ordered by the Radar score. Where two listings tie, the order never changes between page loads.
